Great evening last night at the Ulster-Scots Agency/RSPBANI Branch Foundation Certificate presentation ceremony in Stormont. Ninety two students from across the province received Foundation Certificates in Piping, Snare Drumming, Tenor Drumming and Drum Majoring.

Due to changing personal circumstances, Finvoy Pipe Band  are seeking  an experienced person with passion and energy to take over the role of Pipe Major for the 2017 season in Grade 3B. The band is based between Rasharkin and Ballymoney and next year will clebrate 80 years since its formation in 1937. William Kerr Memorial Pipe Band are seeking a leading drummer to help develop a young drum corps. Practices are held in Drummond Orange Hall, a very central location near Dungannon and close to the MI Motorway. Payment is available for the suitable candidate.

The band are also keen to recruit drummers/pipers and learners to strengthen their ranks for the incoming year.

Cleland Memorial Pipe Band, Bangor, Co Down; are looking for a new Pipe Major to lead the Band in their promotion to Grade 3B.

They have had a great season in 2016, becoming UK Champions, 2nd in The Worlds and also finishing 2nd in NI Champion of Champions in grade 4A.

The Annual General Meeting of the County Down Section, Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association, Northern Ireland Branch will take place in the Millbrook Lodge Hotel, Ballynahinch on Wednesday 19th October, 2016 at 8:00 p.m.

The Section looks forward to a good turn out of band representatives at the meeting.
