Amid bright hot sunshine all day long, and not what we have been used for the first few events. Mid Ulster Section put on a briliant show with a huge turn out of bands the largest by far this year. Well done to new secretary Ian Scott for a job well done. It was great to see veteran pipe band man Erroll Hassin getting the top honour on the day as Chieftain.

I decided to step down at last nights meeting after serving the Section for quite a number of years due to my own personal reasons. I would like to thank everyone who has supported and assisted me over the years. To all the Mid-Ulster bands for their continued support and to the NI Branch members i thank you each and everyone for all your assistance. Without everyone's help and support Cookstown would not have such a successful competition.
I thank the outgoing Chairman Lowry Ferguson for all his guidance and assitance throughout our time working together as a great team for the Section.
I know that Mid-Ulster section will continue to go from Strength to Strength and i personally wish Ian, Willie and Malcolm every success in their new roles.
