The President, Chairman and members of the Fermanagh Section RSPBANI would like to thank all the Officials, Bands, Drum Majors, supporters and public who came along yesterday in Enniskillen to the Fermanagh Championship. The weather was very unkind after the marvellous spell of wonderful weather we have all been enjoying, (the sun is shining once more again this morning) but despite yesterday’s weather conditions all of the bands performed superbly.

The March Past was excellent with the bands entering the arena quickly one after the other, we are indebted to our centre bands for performing their duties splendidly. A special thanks to RSPBA Director Arlene Graham and the Branch Stewards who coordinated the finale marvellously, to Danielle for helping out the Section, acting as Trophy Officer and Brian who came along to take photographs and record the prize giving.

Thank you also to our Chieftain, William Elliott who has been a lifelong supporter of pipe bands and who for many years has enabled our Fermanagh Championship to go ahead through his generous sponsorship and also his wife Kathleen who handed out the prizes.

The Fermanagh Section looks forward to next year's contest and perhaps a change of fortune with the weather.

While there are spaces for a large number of cars to park within the grounds of the Lakeland Forum, Enniskillen for Saturday's forthcoming contest, it is expected that these spaces within the will fill up early, some spaces in the grounds have been reserved for disabled users.  The Fermanagh Section and the Council have however once again been able to secure the Wellington Road Car Park as the main free Contest venue car and bus park.  This is situated beside Enniskillen Castle and directly opposite the normal contest venue.   This car park will be open from early Saturday morning.  There is also free car parking available in the area in front of the Royal British Legion.  There ae a number of other car parks close to the venue,

The Section has also arranged free alternate parking for Motor Homes and overspill cars in Stuart's Car Park on Sligo Road, Enniskillen.  This is a five-minute stroll from the contest venue and there will be a shuttle bus available from 1130 back and forwards.  No motor homes are allowed into the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum grounds overnight and they should not be parked in the Wellington Road Car Park overnight either.

A wonderful day at the Co Fermanagh Championships, the weather was great showing off our island town  and allowing the bands to perform to their best.  A big Thank You to all the Bands and Drum Majors for coming along, we in Fermanagh really do appreciate it.

Again our March Past was good with no significant gaps and the Chieftain give one of the most appreciated speeches in a long time, it really looked terrific from the front and I have received numerous comments on how good it was..

Lets look forward to next year's contest and a day like today.
