Work is ongoing to secure venues for our local championships for 2022.
At the recent PM/LD meeting, the consensus was to have five local contests, and these were to fall on the weeks directly before the Major Championships. In addition, the All Ireland Championships, will take place in New Ross. There was also support to have two festivals before and after the season.
With this in mind, the attached table lists the dates currently targeted for contests, festivals and solos in 2022.
It is planned that our season will commence a week earlier than usual with plans to hold a non-competitive Festival-type event similar to those held in Antrim and Bangor in 2021.
At present, work is ongoing and progressing well and the Executive Committee will bring you updates as soon as they are confirmed.

The new Covid Recovery Programme for Ulster-Scots organisations (CRPO) is NOW OPEN for applications.
The funding programme is open to Ulster-Scots organisations across Northern Ireland.  It aims to reduce or remove operating deficits in eligible groups which have been caused by Covid. It is hoped this support may alleviate the significant financial pressures they face and help them to get back up and running again.

Applications and supporting documentation must be submitted via the Agency’s online funding portal, which can be accessed HERE.

The portal will automatically close at 5.00pm on Friday 28th January 2022 with decisions expected shortly afterwards.

We are welcoming George Ussher back to the position of Chairman of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland Branch.
George is no stranger to the role, having held the position many years ago. We wish him every success as he leads the team forward into 2022.

At the 71st Annual General Meeting of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (Northern Ireland Branch), held on 27th November 2021, Ray Hall stepped down as chairman of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (Northern Ireland Branch).

The branch would like to thank Ray for 9 years of loyal service, in which he has done a tremendous job. We appreciate Ray's continued support within the association as representative of the County Fermanagh Section and he is still a valued member of the team.
